This is what the Bible says about fornication;

FORNICATION?

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 & 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.”

We are caught in the crossroads, “when it comes to what to tell our young people about fornication.” shacking up” or having sexual relations before marriage have become all the rage. In fact, things have gotten so screwed up that fornication has become common, instead of uncommon, like it was, a long time ago. We’ve changed. The problem for us though, is that God hasn’t changed. His Word is everlasting and his commands are non-negotiable. Oh! The good news is that God is a forgiving God. Even so, Christians and non-Christians alike, find themselves pondering over this matter. Honestly, most of us know right from wrong and what’s morally correct. It’s like this; You see relationships that stand the test of time have to be developed. During that development period, there’s a process that must take place and it’s implemented in phases.

Each phase is necessary, and dependent on the other, because individually they encompass different lessons, which are purposefully designed to teach lover’s how to love and cherish each other. Love is not a haphazard occurence , a mindless leap into lust, nor is it meaningless reckless abandonment. Instead, it is a well-defined and meticulous journey through a person’s heart and mind. In other words; in a relationship; “patience, passion and promise” are the most powerful characteristics of any notable union. Wow, I hate to say this, but people who think marriage or commitment is unimportant in the scheme of relationships, are mis-informed. They just don’t know understand and certainly don’t know what they’re missing, if they’re fornicat’n just because they can! Continue reading
